Spring Garden Children’s Center, Inc. to hold an
OPEN HOUSE in Celebration of “Lights On Afterschool!”
The Spring Garden Children’s Center, Inc.’s will hold an OPEN HOUSE for parents, supporters , community members and policy makers as part of the 12th Annual Lights On Afterschool! event on Thursday, October 20 from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. Spring Garden Children’s Center, Inc. is located at 401 W. Berwick Street, Suite 103, Easton, PA. The celebration will be one of more than 7,500 such events around the nation that day. Lights On Afterschool! is an advocacy event for Afterschool Alliance and Pennsylvania Statewide Afterschool/Youth Development Network.
The OPEN HOUSE will offer tours of the Center and its classroom: Infants through School Age. Teachers from each classroom will be on hand to answer any questions and provide information about the classroom lesson plans and child development curriculum; and present information about the importance of the expansion of afterschool opportunities so that every child who needs a program has access to one.
Spring Garden Children’s Center, Inc. has served the Easton Area since 1955. Its comprehensive programs provide families year-round, childcare support they need, while providing children with stimulating, learning experiences. Spring Garden serves more than 100 children from 3 months to 10 years old. Transportation is offered to and from local school districts, as well as breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks. All classes are grouped by age so children can learn at their own pace and student-teacher ratios are kept low so children receive individual attention. School age students are provided with homework assistance, mentoring, performing arts, visual arts, literacy programs, computer technology, food and nutrition guidance and dozens of other subjects. A full state licensed center, Spring Garden Children’s Center, Inc. is a partner of the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley; a PA Keystone STARS 4 recipient; and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
The Afterschool Alliance is a nonprofit public awareness and advocacy organization working to ensure that all children have access to quality afterschool programs.
